Martha McFarland
Senior Farmland Viability Coordinator, Practical Farmers of Iowa
Martha McFarland is Practical Farmers of Iowa's Senior Farmland Viability Coordinator. In this role, Martha supports land seekers and landowners in a variety of ways, coordinating non-operating landowner services, helping farms in transition, supervising the Iowa Farmland Navigators, and making 1:1 connections between landowners and land seekers. Prior to working at PFI, Martha worked at Colorado State University training, mentoring and supervising teacher candidates as well as facilitating and mediating for non-profits. She runs a 260-acre farm in northeast Iowa, working with livestock, integrating hay and small grains rotations with a farm tenant who raises corn and soybeans. Martha holds a Master of Education from Colorado State University.
